In photosynthetic tissues, two FBPase isozymes (chloroplastic and cytosolic) play key roles in carbon assimilation and metabolism. In photosynthetic tissues cFBPase (cytosolic fructose 1,6 bisphosphatase) converts triose phosphates from the chloroplast to sucrose during light hours.
